Fontys ICT Career Day: Connections, opportunities and chocolate eggs
Last Thursday, 17 April, the Fontys InnovationLab in Eindhoven was all about the future during the Fontys ICT Career Day. With no fewer than 52 partner companies – a mix of Partners in Innovation and Partners in Education – it was the place to be for students to expand their network and give their career a boost.
From big names such as the Ministry of Defence, DAF Trucks, Mediaan, Indicia, Actemium, Sioux, Quercis to many other innovative players, the companies pulled out all the stops to attract students to their stands. And with success – more than 900 students visited the event. They had plenty of opportunity to talk about (graduation) internships and (part-time) jobs, and learned more about various fields of study and learning pathways within ICT.
A nice new element this year was the low-stimulus half hour, specially organised for students who are sensitive to stimuli. A valuable addition that was greatly appreciated.
The fun factor was also taken into account: a cheerful Easter bunny enthusiastically handed out chocolate eggs – a sweet surprise between all the serious conversations. In addition, a photographer was present to take professional LinkedIn photos, which were eagerly snapped up.
In short: it was a day full of connections, opportunities and inspiration. Roll on the next edition!
